The general concepts of this science have been described in the Monograph titled “Philosophical and Sociological Challenges of Social Management (Introduction to Science of Harmoniousness)”. The Monograph was published in 2008 upon the decision of the Science Advisory Board of the Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan.(Reviewers: Academician Telman Aliyev, Associate Member of Academy Rafig Aliyev, Prof. Ali Abasov and Prof. Ilham Mammadzadeh. Editor: Associate Member of Academy Ayyub Gouliyev) The Science of Ahengyol (Harmoniousness) was firstly proposed in 2006-2007 by Azerbaijani Mathematician and Sociologist Ahmad Gashamoglu. It means the way to harmoniousness. Accepting the fact of harmony of the world, the Science/Philosophy of Harmoniousness considers it important to strictly comply with the logic of harmoniousness while conducting scientific studies in all fields. Paying special attention to all achievements of the world sciences, the Science of Harmoniousness considers it fundamental to solely use them in compliance with the principle of harmoniousness. Considering harmony the most important criteria for management in all fields, the Author highly prioritizes the systems theory in studying the harmony principles.

The proposed Science was developed through studying the Eastern and Western Philosophies simultaneously and learning the religious books from the philosophical side as well as using systematic approaches comprehensively. In the context of this new science, most philosophical categories and conceptions were reconsidered and a set of proposals for establishment of a new philosophical paradigm were offered. Furthermore, specific methods for the management of social systems in compliance with the principle of harmony were suggested.
The scope of the human cognition is limited. From the point where the human cognition cannot perceive naturally starts infinity. The boundary of infinity varies from individual to individual. There is a general boundary of infinity for all humankind. The space exists as a hierarchical system. The entire universe (system of galaxies) is an entire organism or body continuing to infinity. The complete space (system of galaxies) operates in entire harmonization. There is certainly a power ensuring this harmony. The religious approach calls it as “Allah”. It is quite rational that the power ensuring the operation of infinity cannot be comprehended. It is outside the capability of human cognition. So a human being can only comprehend that power’s appearance forms. The most sensible and clearer indication of that power, that is Allah, being felt by the human being is harmony. Every being and every process in the world have a specific purpose and mission. Every being is a constituent of space and his/her key mission and function is acting in more compliance with the harmony of space and contributing to space to act more faultlessly/harmoniously as a system. The nature of this relationship characterizes the essence of the being. The capacity of each being depends on how and by which means he interrelates with this “space of brain”. The universe includes many features characterizing the human being. It has a separate space functioning as a human brain too. Every being is in closer interrelationship with various points (divisions) of the universe that can act as a brain.
Interrelationship of 4 energy forms is vital for existence of every being: (a) the energy of the universe coming from the hierarchical systems; (b) the energy the human body itself produces internally through nutrition; (c) the energy obtained through energy exchange with other beings; and (d) non-comprehensible energy of the sensible world. The visible and touchable part of the human body is his/her physical body. But there is also a wave body of human being which connects him/her with the universe. The human is a a “cosmo-bio-psycho-social” being. His/her key life mission is to establish harmony in the systems where he exists.
The religious systems should be distinguished from the religious books. The religious books are encoded information and knowledge about the universe, harmony of the universe and regulation of the society that the prophets get through revelation (connecting the knowledge system on the world by heart).
The Science of Harmoniousness assists to a certain degree in perceiving the information of the religious books expressed through poetic spirit, specific phrases and ciphers through the logic of the secular sciences. The Science of Harmoniousness explains that contribution of various spheres like economics, politics, ecology, etc. to culture as important means (like air, water, etc.) is more coherent.
A person/social system whose goal and action toward achieving that goal contribute to harmony more is considered more civilized. In such circumstances, important clarity comes to interreligious and intercultural relationships. A person/social system is more liberated if s/he has more opportunity to go toward the fixed goal, determined by him/her in compliance with his/her purpose. A real freedom is that one where the fixed goal contributes to harmony and where there are opportunities for the actions establishing harmony in that direction. The boundary of freedom is equal to the boundary of those opportunities.
The term of “harmony” is defined as follows: There would be harmony between two or more objects, if the following stipulations were met: 1)These objects had a common goal complying with their purposes; 2)These objects contained all characteristics and qualities necessary for achieving the goal; 3)The requirements for each object to achieve the goal were met by other objects; and 4)The operation of each object towards achieving the goal strengthened the operations of other objects.
The management in any system should be designated absolutely and exclusively in compliance with the substance of that system. The determined management goal complying with the purpose of the system should be specified in accordance with the substance of that system in a concrete time limit. Otherwise, failure will be unavoidable. Unfortunately, this plain fact has not been taken into account for thousands of years up to now. It is also one of the roots of the calamities in the world. In order to ensure harmony of any management, the following mechanism is proposed: (a) First of all, the purpose and mission of that system should be defined according to the harmoniousness principles; (b) a management objective assisting in the establishment of harmony, where it exists, should be defined very concretely and clearly, according to this purpose; and (c) the management criteria contributing to the principle of harmony should be selected; i.e. these criteria should contribute to establishment of more harmony in the systems covering it whilst the system is managed with the purpose of accomplishment of the goal. Any improvement or development contributing to harmony in the management process should be assessed as progress. Other options (variants) should be considered as collapse to a certain degree. Considering the substance of human being and of sense of his/her existence in the world, the progress criteria are proposed as follows to be more concrete: a) gradual improvement in physical health conditions of members of the social system; b) gradual development in moral values of them; c) gradual increase in their creative approach to their labor. In case of breach of any of these stipulations during the social management process, the management should be corrected. The main goal of the management in any country or in the world should be development. Democracy, capitalism, socialism and other principles are channels to achieve development, but not goals.
The system managed after definition of the criteria is divided into subsystems having importance in terms of management. Measurable indicators characterizing each of these subsystems are determined. A matrix where each row characterizes one subsystem is developed. We can call this matrix the management matrix. Management is a way of ensuring interrelationship between the elements of this matrix that provides opportunity to accomplish the determined goal more comprehensively in compliance with the progress criteria.
The Science of Harmoniousness can also be considered as a science establishing harmony in all social systems and/or a science of peace building.
